潮風橋

東京湾に面して位置する潮風公園に架かる歩道橋。東京湾岸道路により北地区と南地区とに分断される園をつなぐ役割を担う。東日本大震災による被災や経年劣化に伴い、2012年に撤去された木造アーチ橋を、東京オリンピック2020の競技会場整備に向けて架け替えた。園路とシームレスに連続する円弧状の平面線形を与え、主構であるアーチを換気塔側に配置することで海への眺望をひらいた。シンボリックなアーチと開口形状は、観光船から見られる際のランドマーク性を生み出す。
面外方向に反るように変形したアーチは、平面線形のカーブを考慮した釣り合い形状として、曲げモーメントを最小化する。さらに製作を考慮するため、アーチ形状を幾何学をベースに定義した。ねじれに抵抗するため、補剛桁は箱型閉断面とし、これは海に面した過酷な架橋環境下においてもメンテナンスが容易な構造である。

Shio-kaze Bridge

The Shiokaze footbridge is located in Shiokaze Park overlooking Tokyo Bay. The bridge connects the park, which is divided into north and south by the Tokyo Bay Highway. The old Shiokaze bridge was a wooden arch bridge, which was removed in 2012 due to damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The bridge was replaced in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The arch was placed on the side of the ventilation tower to open up the sea view. The symbolic openings of the arch form a landmark from tour boats. The arch is curved in the out-of-plane direction to minimize the bending moment. Considering the fabrication, the arch shape was refined based on simple geometry. The deck consists of closed sections to absorb torsion and requires little maintenance in the harsh coastal environment.
