Exhibition: Laurent Ney's Bridge Design

Texts

This is an exhibition that was held from February 20th to March 18th, 2013 at the Matsuya Ginza Design Gallery 1953, sponsored by the Japan Design Committee.
Motomi Kawakami, the person in charge of the exhibition, commented on Ney’s design as follows:
“Laurent Ney’s bridge design has an original and exciting structure. In the process, he respects the will of the local people and interacts with the surrounding landscape. The elements are simplified and aggregated by a subtractive method. The elegant and rich expression with few elements is in the pursuit of a proper “form” that integrates various boundary conditions. ”

Specific features|
Instead of spatial arrangements, a lot of texts were placed in a small venue so that the exhibition could be exposed to Laurent Ney’s design concept. It was a good opportunity for people who appreciate the memo during the session to understand how the bridge designer thinks and creates “shape” along with visuals such as photographs and exhibition models.
